Job description

Radboudumc has ambitions to become even stronger in data-driven work in research, patient care, and education. We use and reuse data and develop innovative artificial intelligence (AI) methods focused on applications with impact. Several programs have been initiated in this area at Radboudumc and with our partners such as Radboud University. Will you join our Data-driven Innovation team of the Sector Plan Medical Sciences to bring together Data & AI experts in an active and motivating community, in coordination with other initiatives in this area such as Radboud Healthy Data, Radboud AI, and the Health-RI node in Nijmegen?

As a community manager for Data-driven innovation, you are responsible for organizing meetings in the field of Data & AI for coordination, inspiration, and further education for professionals. You will also contribute to Radboudumc-wide communication about our Data & AI ambitions and results. This role will also involve searching for and identifying suitable research funding for Data & AI innovations. The intended outcome is improved awareness and accessibility of our expertise for Radboudumc researchers and external networks, supported by new research funding.

  • Actively contribute to the formation of a Radboudumc Data & AI community.
  • Mapping and organizing relevant expertise aimed at knowledge sharing and advice for Radboudumc researchers.
  • Increasing the visibility of our Data & AI expertise in external networks.
  • Organizing meetings in the field of Data & AI.
  • Interact with similar Data-driven innovation communities in other UMC’s to align activities and plans.
  • Contributing to educational meetings for various target groups in the field of Data & AI.
  • Identifying opportunities for suitable research funding and facilitating its acquisition by Radboudumc researchers.
Please upload a motivation letter, your curriculum vitae and the sectorplan application form that applies to your position. This form will guide you through some questions that are relevant for the selection.

Place of work

This position is partly funded by the resources made available by the medical sciences Sector plan. With the sector plans, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) intends to make a structural contribution to the cohesion and cooperation between education and research, and to relieve stress and pressure related to science by offering more permanent contracts. In addition, the sector plans contribute to making joint and clear choices in the division of tasks and signatures of the Dutch universities.

Radboudumc fully supports these objectives and has seized this opportunity to strengthen and deepen a number of important existing strategic themes within Radboudumc. These are the themes of prevention, data-driven & Artificial Intelligence (AI), and molecular mechanisms of diseases and new treatments. These themes fit nicely on the thematic foci of the sector plan, namely prevention, data-driven innovation and the path from fundamental research to application. We hope this will not only give an impulse to the research within the Radboudumc, but also strengthen the unique position of university medical centers: in no other place is the interaction between fundamental research and the treatment of (complex) patients so clearly present, and the potential for impact on both patients and healthy people so great.

AI, e-health and medical technology as a theme within the Sectorplan
In the focus area "data-driven health: AI, e-health and medical technology," we are committed to the development and implementation of new technologies in medical practice. The sector plan allows Radboudumc, together with regional, national and international cooperation partners, to continue building a self-learning healthcare system where data about our patients and the outcome of treatments are used to improve the treatment of future patients and develop new prevention strategies.

Place of work
The candidate will work in the Research Institute for Medical Innovations, where collaboration with the Grant Support Office will also take place. The appointment will be in the Human Genetics department.
