What cookies are used and why?

  • Cookies that provide information about the quality and effectiveness of the website and that we use to increase the ease of use of the site. These can be analytic cookies, A/B testing or affiliate cookies. No IP-related information is used here, so your consent is not required. However, you can refuse the use of cookies through your browser settings.
  • We use analytical cookies from Matomo to collect and analyze data about visits to our website, such as number of users, click behavior, visit time and visit frequency. We use this data to improve www.radboudumc.nl and adapt it to user preferences. Matomo is set up by Radboudumc to minimize the invasion of privacy. Among other things, it is set so that no full IP addresses are transmitted. The use of these analytical cookies from Matomo does not require your separate consent because of the purpose and agreements made. However, you can refuse the use of these cookies via your browser settings.
  • Radboudumc uses the Blue Billywig player for embedding videos within its website. The Blue Billywig player places a cookie to analyze user interaction with video content. To improve the viewing experience, the player also uses the browser's local storage to remember user settings to improve the viewing experience (volume, subtitles and video quality). To remember user settings, local storage values in the browser are used instead of cookies. 
  • We use tracking cookies to measure our marketing activities. These cookies are set only with the user's permission. We use them only for recruitment campaigns on Facebook and Linkedin. 

Personal data protection

Radboudumc complies to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (in Dutch: Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming) and treats any data obtained by the use of cookies confidential. Cookies do not contain personal data, so Radboudumc cannot use them to personally identify you. The data are not used for any purposes other than supporting the functioning of the website and adjusting it to visitors as good as possible. The data are not made available to third parties.

You can use the browser settings on your computer to remove cookies that are already placed and to refuse new cookies being installed at all times.
