• infectious diseases (TB, Malaria, HIV) and antimicrobial resistance
• non-communicable diseases (ENT, mental health, gynaecology, orthopedics)
• new drugs and treatments (human genomics, clinical pharmacology)
• advanced technologies in health (3D, AI)
• health economics and decision-making science

RGH Patient care

At the core of our work is clinical exchange of professionals sharing knowledge and expertise for improved access to quality and safe healthcare.

By integrating local knowledge with evidence-based practices, our initiatives aim to improve patient outcomes and foster healthier communities. Prioritizing patient-centered care helps bridge the gaps in health systems, creating sustainable solutions that promote wellness and dignity for every patient.

Activities in patient care are based on long-term partnerships and include:

• Internships and observerships for specialists (to and from Radboudumc)
• Study visits and staff exchange (multiple specialties)
• Onsite clinical exchange (ENT, gynaecology, nursing)

RGH Education

By understanding the interconnectedness of health challenges across borders, such as pandemics, climate change, and access to care, we empower the next generation to address pressing health issues with compassion, innovation, and collaboration. Educating them fosters a global perspective, equipping them with the tools to not only improve health systems but also promote wellness and prevent crises on a global scale. We do this through:

• Global health internships
• Erasmus+ study visits and staff exchange
• Continuous medical education courses
• On-job training and implementation support

International Office

We encourage student mobility by advising and helping current students to fulfil their ambitions to perform part of their study abroad. We also support incoming students in the international Master's programs and exchange student for study and internships.

Rotation in Global Health Internships

For over 60 years, Radboudumc collaborates with institutes in Tanzania, Ghana, Indonesia, Surinam and Paraguay for a rotation. That offers medical students the choice to do a rotation at the end of their master phase of medical studies and learn more about health systems and practice in different contexts.

Partnerships of Radboudumc Global Health

Global health challenges demand collaborative action. At Radboudmc, we believe long-term partnerships are vital to driving real change.

We share our research expertise, clinical innovation, and policy leadership, and leverage knowledge, resources, and strategies to tackle complex health issues, from infectious diseases to chronic illness management, making quality healthcare accessible to all.

• Dutch Global Health Hub

  Radboudumc joined Dutch Global health Hub to contribute to global health efforts in knowledge exchange and intersectoral partnerships; research and innovation; and pioneering advocacy and policy making.

  Building on existing partnerships, in 2023 the Dutch Global Health Hub was launched to support achieving

  priorities identified in the Dutch Global Health Strategy: health systems strengthening; pandemic preparedness and antimicrobial resistance; and impact of climate change on public health.

• Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC)

  A 25-year collaboration yielding extensive bidirectional exchange for capacity building in research, teaching, and patient care.

• Africa-Europe Cluster of Research Excellence (Tri-IR CoRE)

  Radboudumc together with Makerere University, Uganda co-leads the Translational Research in Infection, Immunity and Inflammation Cluster of Research Excellence.

• International Centre for Antimicrobial Resistance Solutions (ICARS)

  Radboudumc and ICARS signed an Memorandum of Understanding for capacity and implementation of AMR solutions.

• Bandung Padjadjaran University and University of Indonesia

  For 25 years, Radboudumc has been working with universities in Indonesia in the field of TB, HIV, and other infectious diseases.
