Joining Radboudumc means becoming part of a vibrant environment that brings together specialists like data stewards, research software engineers, IT architects and data governance experts. We want to build a learning healthcare system, where health data can be reused for research and innovation. So we can treat a patient using all the knowledge we have accumulated from experience with other patients.
This requires an environment where we can connect, share and reuse data that may contain important sensitive information. Artificial intelligence is available, but the data to train these are locked up in different systems that do not communicate with each other. The effective coupling of large datasets from healthcare and research cohorts is necessary for the development of new diagnostic, treatment and prevention strategies.
Radboudumc is already a leader in data-driven health and is further investing in a responsible and sustainable future in data and AI. Now is the time to build a learning healthcare system of the future where data from patients are used to optimize healthcare. All this in a safe, transparent way that respects privacy. Achieving this is challenging. It requires people with different backgrounds and expertise to work together in a multidisciplinary manner.
Would you like to help us build a learning healthcare system, where health data can be reused for research and innovation? We need data stewards, research software engineers, data governance experts, IT architects and legal experts.

Health-RI
Why
The mission of Health-RI (research infrastructure) is better health for citizens and patients by reusing health data with an integrated health data infrastructure for research and innovation.
It offers a clear vision and roadmap to establish a single interconnected national infrastructure for personalized medicine and health research. Health-RI is a public-private partnership of organizations involved in health research and care. Radboudumc is partner and helps building a learning healthcare system to achieve better healthcare for patients.
Health-RI organizes this infrastructure and implements the Dutch ‘Open Science’ and FAIR data policy by making knowledge, equipment and research data optimally accessible for research and innovation.

OnePlanet
Why
OnePlanet Research Center introduces OpenPlanet, an accessible digital environment for entrepreneurs and organizations in health, agriculture and food.
Radboudumc is part of this initiative that aims to provide an answer to the current fragmentation of solutions and the lack of knowledge to effectively convert data into insights and digital services.
OpenPlanet offers users the opportunity to share and enrich relevant data for end-user applications across application domains. It provides an environment for developing advanced algorithms and models by using the latest chip and digital technologies to contribute to a society in which everyone can live healthily and has access to healthy and sustainable food.
