Job description

To seamlessly integrate the increasingly growing amount of digital pathology data into our research projects, we are looking for a new colleague with technical and programming expertise in data management and data processing, who can work in close collaboration with researchers and lab technicians in our group. Are you the Technical Data Manager we are looking for? We would like to meet you!

The Computational Pathology Group (CPG) of Radboudumc Nijmegen develops artificial neural networks based on Artificial Intelligence techniques, using Deep Learning for the analysis of histopathological slides. Our AI algorithms are trained using whole slide images (WSI). WSIs are generated by scanning histopathological slides on a very high resolution. Development of most AI algorithms require large sets of WSIs used to train and validate computer models.

Since 2020, the pathology department of the Radboudumc has implemented a fully digital pathology workflow, where every day, hundreds of digital pathology slides are scanned and diagnosed by pathologists, generating thousands of clinical reports. This wealth of data represents the perfect combination with development of state-of-the-art AI algorithms such as Foundation Models, the AI technology at the core of models like ChatGPT.

We offer an exciting position in one of Europe's largest research groups in Computational Pathology. Initialy you will receive a 1 year contract of 0,8-1,0 FTE (open for negotiation).

Your core tasks can be divided into the following categories:

  • Research into information needs.
  • Development of (medical) software/systems.
  • Implementation of (medical) software/systems.
  • User Support.
