To generate evidence, guidelines, and recommendations for personalized lung cancer screening and follow-up care.
To develop, validate and implement novel and minimally invasive therapeutic interventions for lung cancer.

AI for precision medicine

Francesco Ciompi's research group focuses on precision medicine, investigating and developing artificial intelligence models to better understand diseases, discover novel biomarkers, and help physicians to improve their routine diagnostics and select the right treatments to help patients.

AI in thoracic oncology

Colin Jacobs's research group investigates how to develop robust and trustworthy artificial intelligence algorithms for medical imaging in the field of lung cancer, how to validate these algorithms in clinical practice, and how we can have the most impact with AI in healthcare.

Biological and molecular imaging in experimental radiotherapy

Jan Bussink's research group aims to 'reprogram' the metabolism of tumors, giving the immune system more 'grip' on tumor cells and making tumor cells more sensitive to radiotherapy.
