Goals

To reduce low-value care on a national scale.
To optimize the implementation of innovative, evidence-based care that improves patient outcomes, reduces unnecessary labor demands and/or lowers CO2 emissions.
To develop prediction models and decision aids to help patients better understand diagnostic treatment options and to facilitate discussions between healthcare professionals and patients.
To improve the impact of health care on workforce and planetary sustainability.

Appropriate care

Tijn Kool's research group helps healthcare professionals and patients to implement appropriate care and to de-implement low-value care.

Appropriate Intensive Care

Marieke Zegers's research group improves intensive care by assessing its cost-effectiveness, developing prediction models for treatment decisions, addressing ethical issues in using (macroeconomic) data in clinical practice, and promoting personalized, patient-centered care.
