  • The focus is on a well-defined, limited set of conditions: Parkinson’s disease (PD) and the various forms of atypical parkinsonism; rare hereditary movement disorders, in particular cerebellar ataxia and hereditary spastic paraplegia; the various forms of tremor; and gait and balance disorders.

Gender in primary and transmural care

Sabine Oertelt-Priogione's research group focuses on the integrating sex and gender dimensions into research, clinical care and teaching.

Motor control and rehabilitation

Vivian Weerdesteyn's research group aims to elucidate the mechanistic underpinnings of impaired balance and gait in people with neurological conditions, and to develop novel interventions to ameliorate these problems.

Neurological gait impairments

Jorik Nonnenekes's research group focus on neurological gait impairments. The aim to improve the quality of life of affected individuals is the drive behind their work.
