Goals

  • Establish a clear vision for the research program.
  • Develop, refine, and implement methodologies to study pharmacology, toxicology and pharmacotherapy during pregnancy, lactation and in children.
  • Decrease the knowledge gap on pharmacology, toxicology and pharmacotherapy in pregnancy, lactation and in children for selected diseases and medications by adding evidence ranging from pre-clinical to post-marketing studies.
  • Implement new dosing and treatment knowledge in clinical guidelines for pharmacotherapy during pregnancy, lactation and childhood.
  • Facilitate and promote a normative framework for responsible innovation and implementation of pharmacotherapy in pregnancy, lactation and pediatrics.
  • Educate young doctors and researchers on pharmacological and safety issues in these special and vulnerable populations.
