To develop and implement innovative cost-effective optimally targeted and personalized image-guided non-/minimally invasive treatment modalities to cure more patients with less side effects, resulting in better quality of life of long-term surviving cancer patients.
To develop and implement innovative cost-effective non-/minimally invasive tools to stage, monitor and predict treatment efficacy.

Biological and molecular imaging in experimental radiotherapy

Jan Bussink's research group aims to 'reprogram' the metabolism of tumors, giving the immune system more 'grip' on tumor cells and making tumor cells more sensitive to radiotherapy.
