Our purpose

We aim to develop innovative and personalized fungal disease management in order to reduce fungal disease related morbidity and mortality. We aim to pioneer management approaches for specific host groups and to build sustainable international networks for patient care, research and education.

Hematology

Nicole Blijlevens's research group wants to develop innovative and effective forms of supportive and integrated care to reduce toxicity and improve tolerability of therapy.

Molecular microbiology

Willem Melchers's research group aims is to prevent, diagnose and treat infectious diseases. This group provides insight into the progressive behavior of cervical lesions and HPV infections to prevent cervical cancer and focus on the molecular mechanisms of azole resistance in Aspergillus.
