Our expertise

At Radboud university medical center, we specialize in the treatment of patients with complex orthopedic prosthesis infections, particularly infections of hip and knee prosthetics.

We are one of the national centers designated for the treatment of orthopedic prosthesis infections. We fulfill a regional and national referral function. Thanks to a close and growing collaboration with the Sint Maartenskliniek, we are able to carry out complex operations, perform joint research, and determine the optimal treatment method for patients.

The orthopedic surgeons, physician-microbiologists, and infectious disease specialists discuss the complex infections during their multidisciplinary consultations and determine a treatment plan that is tailored to the patient.

The orthopedic surgeons and infectious disease specialists also operate a joint outpatient clinic. In this way, we can spare the patient multiple outpatient visits and thanks to the presence of both specialists, it is possible to determine the correct treatment immediately.
