About Peter Pickkers

The research of  Peter Pickkers focuses on pharmacological modulation of the innate immune response in translational models and patients. His group has exploited several translational models, including the experimental human endotoxemia model and experimental human rhinovirus  infection to investigate the pathophysiology of human inflammation.  Also clinical trials in critically ill patients has his interest, with a focus on sepsis, delirium and acute kidney injury. He is part of the editorial board of Intensive Care Medicine Experimental, Netherlands Journal of Critical Care and the 'Nederlands Tijdschrift voor Geneeskunde' and has participated in several guideline committees, including the SWAB. At this moment, he co-authored >200 peer reviewed papers and 22 chapters in books.
