About Martijn van den Broek

Martijn van den Broek is a member of the nephropathology research group (smeetslab) working within the renal disorders theme. He is affiliated to the pathology and pediatric nephrology departments. He aims to unravel key mechanisms that induce podocyte recovery when they are treated with prednisone. Prednisone is a commonly used drug in patients with idiopathic nephrotic syndrome (iNS). By unraveling key podocyte recovery mechanisms, he ultimately hopes to help identify targets for more effective treatment option for iNS patients.
