drs. Gavin Surgey MSc
About Gavin Surgey
Gavin Surgey is an Economist with a focus in health economics and financing. He works closely with Ministries of Health in Sub-Saharan Africa supporting evidence informed decision making. Gavin’s work focuses on providing support to Low- and Middle-Income countries on Priority Setting and Health Technology Assessment. Gavin currently provides ongoing support to Tanzania and Ghana on the development of their HTA processes. Gavin has also supported Kazakhstan and Moldova on priority setting and HTA.
Gavin also has significant experience in HIV and SRHR having previously worked as at The Global Fund in Geneva and as Health Economist at the South African National Aids Council (SANAC). He has experience working with other partners such as the World Bank, WHO, UNAIDS, BMGF, Sida, GIZ, PATH etc. He is currently a member of the Independent Review Committee (IRC) of GAVI, The Vaccine Alliance.
