The Roozendaal lab is focusing on understanding the role of stress hormones and emotional arousal in influencing learning and memory processes. We are particularly interested in examining the role of stress and stress hormones and their molecular mechanisms on the amygdala, hippocampus and prefrontal cortex in regulating memory consolidation, memory retrieval and working memory and their possible consequences for traumatic memories, phobias and post-traumatic stress disorder.Position(s)
