About Arjan van Laarhoven

I am an infectious disease specialist, holding a PhD on tuberculosis innate immunology, and work in Radboudumc, a national referral centre for mycobacterial disease. We admit a diverse patient group with extreme tuberculosis phenotypes and non-tuberculous mycobacterial infections. The underlying immunomechanism has thus far been overlooked in the large international patient-oriented, one-size-fits all studies. I aim to use detailed patient phenotyping for hypothesis-generating immunological and molecular research starting off from our patients, with the goal to integrate personalized immunotherapy to our patient care.
