Poster competition

A poster competition for promising research and early-stage development in life sciences & health will take place during the event.

This is a great opportunity to present your research to potential users. The goal of this session is to bridge the gap between scientific research and practical applications. By encouraging early contact between different sectors, new ideas and collaborations can emerge.

Prior to the event, researchers from Radboudumc and Radboud University submit abstracts for the competition, focusing on translating the research into products & services, entrepreneurship, and the market. The most promising entries will be presented on posters during Investment Day event. The winner will receive €2,500 for their research.

Winner 2024

This year, Nienke Timmermans was the winner of the poster competition, with her idea for an algorithm that monitors tremors in patients with Parkinson's disease. She received the Martijn Kriens Best Poster Award: an incentive prize of 2,500 euros for her idea. Entries in the poster competition were not only judged on their scientific merits, but also on their potential to eventually grow into a successful product.

The award is named after Martijn Kriens, who sadly passed away in 2024. Martijn was, among many other things, one of the founders of and a major driving force behind Investment Day. His passion, energy, and company are fondly remembered by the Investment Day organizing team and everyone who knew him.

About Radboudumc Investment Day

As Radboudumc, we want to have a significant impact on health and healthcare. We cannot do that alone; we do so together with partners, entrepreneurs, and investors. With the Investment Day we bring these parties together, so that new connections are made and new ideas arise. Together we use the results of our scientific research to achieve valuable improvements for healthcare and society. 

Radboudumc Investment Day has been organized since 2021. Over 200 participants attended the previous edition.

The main objective of this day is to make new contacts. For that we are using a matchmaking platform to set up 1-on-1 meetings.

Matchmaking

The main objective of Raboudumc Investment Day is to establish new contacts. That is why we use a matchmaking platform to set up 1-on-1 meetings. After registering for the event, you get access to a digital environment, where you can introduce yourself and connect with other attendees.

You can then reserve a time and table to speak further during the event. Separate time has been set aside in the program for these rounds of discussions. If you want more time, you can also choose to schedule networking talks during the parallel sessions. This way you can create your own program completely tailored to your needs.

Program

A balanced selection of scientists, investors, and entrepreneurs shares their stories so that all attendees could learn from each other. The program for edition 2025 is to be announced.

Good to know

  • The event takes place in the Experience Center and starts at 12.00 with a networking lunch.
  • The program runs from 1 till 5.15 pm and we will wrap up with networking drinks and optional dinner at Huize Heyendael.
  • Participation in Radboudumc Investment Day is free of charge.
  • You can create a customized program.
  • There is ample opportunity for networking during lunch, breaks, networking drinks, and dinner.
