About K.C.M.C (Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center)
The Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center is a large regional hospital in Moshi, Tanzania. It was established in 1971 by the Evangelical Lutheran Church and has about 500 beds. It is also a referral center for 38 peripheral hospitals in northern, eastern and central Tanzania. In addition to patient care, KCMC is involved in training and research. This makes it one of the few institutions in Africa that combines care, education and research under one roof, as is the case at Dutch UMCs.

Healthcare professionals from both institutions exchange knowledge, joint research is conducted and there is also a lot of support provided through capacity exchange and upgrading competencies and clinical skills in patient care. In addition, students from Nijmegen do internships, observerships, and study visits in Moshi and vice versa.
