Talking to Esther Tanck

Forty years of Biomedical Sciences in Nijmegen is a great milestone that is worth celebrating. We are proud of the more than 3000 graduates and of the teachers and people from the educational organization who have made this possible.

The program started 40 years ago as “General Medicine,” was renamed to “Health Sciences” in 1990, “Biomedical Health Sciences” in 1995 and six years later, to a bachelor and master “Biomedical Sciences”.

In the early 1990s, I studied Health Sciences myself and I was full of expectations. I never imagined that one day I would be the director of this wonderful program myself. A program for curious world improvers, innovative and people-oriented, who fulfill their dreams and ambitions for better healthcare, from molecule to man to world population.

- Esther Tanck, program director Biomedical Sciences
