Are you ready to enhance global health by implementing pregnancy-adjusted dosing guidelines? Join our team as a science communication specialist to lead communication and dissemination efforts for project MADAM’s groundbreaking research.
Many drugs are prescribed off-label during pregnancy. Their efficacy and safety have not been adequately studied in this population. Hence, pregnant women and their fetuses are at an increased risk of therapy failure or toxicity reactions. Therefore, our team aims to generate dosing guidelines for pregnant women, without having to conduct clinical trials. With project MADAM (Model-Adjusted Doses for All Mothers), funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, we aim to explore the use of physiologically-based pharmacokinetic modeling to establish best-evidence doses for children and pregnant women. Moreover, we will work on implementing these newly generated dosing advice by integrating them into (inter)national guidelines
As a science communication professional, you will be responsible for enhancing awareness of MADAM’s initiatives and ultimately implementing pregnancy-adjusted dosing in clinical care. This position entails developing strategies for effectively sharing our research outcomes both nationally and internationally to reach the appropriate audiences, such as patients and clinicians. Key responsibilities include networking, communicating, and disseminating project MADAM's outcomes on a national and global scale.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Developing communication and implementation strategies about the pregnancy-adjusted doses and other MADAM outcomes, both nationally and internationally.
- Creating patient information that explains pharmacokinetic modeling and adjusted dosages for use during pregnancy and in children, as well as communicating about the project - including the use of PBPK models - with various stakeholders, such as clinicians and patients.
- Proactively approaching and collaborating with various stakeholders and project teams, both nationally and internationally.
- Preparing and delivering presentations.
