Would you like to contribute to groundbreaking research in artificial intelligence for healthcare? Work in a dynamic and stimulating environment where you get to engage with diverse, international teams? We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Computational Pathology Group.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for orchestrating the smooth operation of research projects, both at national and international levels. You will act as the primary project manager for the (soon to start) AMMODO-awarded project, as well as support the ongoing EU-funded Bigpicture project.

By working across different (inter)national research projects and consortia, you will gain unique insights. Your day-to-day tasks will include project coordination, team collaboration, consortia liaison and administrative responsibilities. 

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Oversee/support the planning, execution, and timely completion of research projects.
  • Ensure milestones are met and standards are upheld.
  • Work closely with researchers, clinicians, and other departments to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
  • Act as a contact for research consortia, fostering relationships and coordinating joint efforts.
  • Handle project legal and ethical documentation, as well as reporting process.
  • Contribute to resource planning, budget management and financial reporting.
  • Support meetings organization.

Place of work

You will work at the Computational Pathology Group (CPG) of the Department of Pathology of the Radboud University Medical Center Nijmegen. CPG currently has ~30 researchers focused on various topics in the use of AI for pathology. Our focus is the development and validation of novel methods in a broad range of computational pathology applications. We focus on automated grading of breast and prostate cancer, prediction of therapy outcome for lung cancer, assessment of kidney biopsies and many other applications.

Key to the success of the group is close cooperation with clinicians. A team of scientific programmers is supporting our deep learning research, maintaining a large cluster of computers equipped with high-end GPUs for large-scale experimentation.

At Radboud university medical center, you build on your future. We are committed to providing the best care, education, and research. And we are true to our word, because we help you develop and seize opportunities and give you the room to grow.   • A gross monthly salary between € 3.493 and € 5.504 (scale 10) for full-time employment (36 hours per week). You will also receive an 8% holiday allowance, an 8.3% end-of-year bonus, and a 47% to 72% bonus for working unsocial hours.
  • 172 vacation hours per year based on a 36-hour working week. (As of 1 January 2025, you will receive 176 vacation hours.) 
  • An Employment Conditions Selection Model, allowing you to use part of your employment conditions to your choosing.   • As of 1 October 2024: an allowance for your commuting costs of € 0.18 per km up to a maximum of 40 km one way. If you use public transport to commute, we will fully reimburse the public transport costs (2nd class). If you regularly work from home, you will receive a working from home allowance of € 2.35 per day.
