Our purpose

We aim to collaboratively study hemodynamic (patho-)physiology in order to detect cardiovascular failure as early as possible, to understand its impact on different organs systems, and to optimize an individualized hemodynamic management strategy.

Goals

The sub-aims can be summarized as following:

  • To gain more insight in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular (patho-)physiology in different phases of human life.
  • To study potential consequences of cardiovascular or cerebrovascular failure on different organ systems on the short and long term.
  • To design and develop innovative hemodynamic diagnostic and monitoring technologies to detect cardiovascular or cerebrovascular failure in its earliest phase.
  • To develop personalized hemodynamic management strategies to prevent or treat hemodynamic compromise.
  • Assessment of patients’ (or representatives’) perspectives on cardio- or cerebrovascular-related health issues.
