11 March 2025

At Radboudumc, the Therapy Accelerator for Rare Diseases team is driving research into new therapies for rare diseases. As part of the Sector Plan for Medical and Health Sciences, funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science, the team aims to improve treatment options. On Friday, February 28, Rare Disease Day highlighted the importance of care and innovation for patients with rare diseases.

The multidisciplinary team at Radboudumc, with expertise in various aspects of therapy development, aims to increase access to new and innovative therapies for patients with rare diseases.

A key activity is providing advice. Last year, three projects received long-term support through the Call for Use Cases to advance their research in therapeutic development (In-kind support – Radboudumc).

From now on, the Therapy Accelerator for Rare Diseases Advisory desk is opened. Researchers working in the field of rare diseases can now turn to this advisory desk for support and guidance: Therapy Accelerator for Rare Diseases advisory desk.
