Last Friday, Radboudumc hosted the PhD & Postdoc Career Event 2024—a dynamic and informative day aimed at helping PhD candidates and postdocs explore career options beyond academia. With approximately 130 participants and 12 companies present, the event offered a vibrant setting for young researchers to gain insights, network, and explore new career pathways.
Highlights of the day included:
- Keynote Speakers: Inspiring talks from professionals who transitioned to roles like medical writing, sharing insights on careers outside academia.
- Interactive Workshops: Sessions on entrepreneurship, drug regulation, and science communication, equipping attendees with practical skills and industry knowledge.
- Networking Workshop: A hands-on session where participants practiced effective networking techniques.
The event concluded with a lively networking borrel, giving attendees the chance to connect directly with sponsors, including Pivot Park, CBG, and Briskr, alongside other attending companies. Feedback from both participants and companies was outstanding, and planning is already underway for next year’s event.
