“When things don’t add up – Challenges of a lifestyle adherence score”

After 4 years of hard work, Marlou-Floor did an outstanding job defending her PhD thesis with experts of the field. Great to see that her work could be translated into a discussion whether or not it is a good idea to celebrate this great work with some drinks after the defence. Luckily, Marlou-Floor came up with great arguments why this is still a good idea.

Her work showed great impact for cancer survivors, investigating the association between WCRF/AICR lifestyle recommendations with quality of life, fatigue and chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy. This was investigated in a large population of colorectal cancer patients covering many factors influencing the general health of these patients. With this research, Marlou-Floor has broadened the knowledge and impact of current guidelines of cancer survivor patients.

As new colleagues of Marlou-Floor, we enthusiastically attended the defence of her partly physically and partly digitally. Afterwards, the defence was celebrated with drinks with family, friends, old and new colleagues.“When things don’t add up – Challenges of a lifestyle adherence score”
