The Sports Medicine Association (VSG) congratulates Vincent Aengevaeren with the Push braces Prize for Sports Medicine 2021 in the category 'Best Dissertation'. His dissertation 'Potential Detrimental Effects of Exercise on the Heart' was judged by the jury as innovative, clinically relevant and of high scientific quality with publications in high impact journals. In addition to a beautiful bouquet of flowers on the day of the presentation, Vincent received a cheque for € 2,000 from Push braces. Aernout Snoek was awarded the third prize for his thesis 'Cardiac Rehabilitation: How much pain for the optimal gain?' and received a cheque worth € 250.
Vincent Aengevaeren was also awarded the runner-up prize in the category 'Best Scientific Article 2021' with the publication “Exercise-Induced Cardiac Troponin I Increase and Incident Mortality and Cardiovascular Events” which was published in Circulation.
