Our Radboud Excellence Fellow Juan presented to his peers: ATP, the fuel of life

More than a year ago Juan Rigalli was awarded this prestigious fellowship and came from Argentina to the department of Physiology where he joined the research group of Joost Hoenderop. Over the last year he studied the ins and outs of ATP signaling in kidney cells. All other fellows from the initiative working at various departments in the RU/Radboudumc and staff were present.
 
The Radboud Excellence Initiative was created with the dual purpose of bringing the most exceptional talents from every academic field to Radboud University while strengthening international bonds between universities worldwide. The Initiative is a joint enterprise of both Radboud University and Radboudumc. These Fellowships are open to non-Dutch researchers based outside the Netherlands, who have no previous study or work experience in the Netherlands and who obtained their doctorate no longer than eight years before the time of application. They will be offered a two-year employment contract with excellent secondary conditions (https://www.ru.nl/excellence/nomination/initiative/).
 
In the beginning of 2021 Juan will finalize his studies in Nijmegen and will start a tenured research position in his home country Argentina. After the establishment in his home country he will be in close contact with the Molecular Physiology group at the Radboudumc to collaborate on challenging research questions in renal physiology.
