Fitsum Tadesse (Medical Microbiology) received a highly competitive Early Career Fellowship from the Wellcome Trust.
For his project, Fitsum will work with international colleagues towards a better understanding of relapsing Plasmodium vivax infections. Fieldwork in Ethiopia will be complemented with advanced molecular analyses at Intitut Pasteur (Paris) and immunological assays in Nijmegen and at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
Earlier this year, Fitsum also received the prestigious Alan Magill Fellowship from the American Society for Tropical Medicine & Hygiene.
