We would like to extend our invitation to the 4th ENABLE Life Sciences Symposium entitled “Exploring life dynamics: in and out of equilibrium”, which will take place, due to the COVID-19 pandemic fully online, on 12th – 14th of May 2021. The ENABLE symposiums are organized by and for PhD students and Postdocs and seek to promote excellence in biomedical sciences in Europe, by supporting young researchers and strengthening their scientific careers. ENABLE is co-funded by the European Commission and is led and organized by four research institutes (IRB Barcelona, RIMLS, NNF CPR, SEMM) and a science communication agency (Scienseed).
Join us for three days of ENABLE 2021 and have the opportunity to participate in:
- Science career day: A full day (Wednesday, 12th of May) during which participants will be able to virtually attend workshops and career chats with professionals. Also, participants will have the chance to learn about career opportunities at the “online Job Fair”, where various companies from different sectors (publishing, biotech, pharma) will be present.
- Outreach activities: An important goal of ENABLE is bridging the gap between scientists and society. To this end, ENABLE organizes virtual outreach activities that allow participants to explain biomedicine among citizens and bring science closer to society. Particularly, the pub talks on Wednesday night (both in English and Italian), organized on the event’s platform and streamed on YouTube, are an excellent opportunity for young researchers to bring their science to the public. Although not obligatory, we highly encourage participants to submit a layman’s abstract for this unique and fun event.
- Scientific symposium: Two full days (Thursday, 13th and Friday, 14th of May) during which young scientists will learn about different biomedical fields and cutting-edge techniques through scientific talks and informal chats with renowned scientists. Also, the scientific symposium provides an excellent platform for young researchers to present their own work in short talks and poster sessions.
Registration for this event is open from 27 January until 25 March 2021. Since this year the event will be fully online, there will be no registration fees! Register here
ENABLErs grant: In addition, to foster networking and interaction that a virtual conference may reduce, the ENABLE organizing committee took a step forward and has opened the possibility to the international young researchers’ community to be involved in the organization of a satellite event, to be held in any place of the world right before the 2021 Milan Conference. Thanks to the generous contribution of our sponsors, ENABLE will be awarding several grants (Stay Home Grant) to cover the costs related to the organisation of these events. Satellite events must be aligned with the purpose and scope of the ENABLE activities. The deadline to apply is the 01 March 2021
