Can you perform better surgery if you have a lot of experience with computer games? Radboudumc is going to test this at the science festival for children of primary school age: Expedition Next, on May 1st in Zutphen. So put on an OR suit, practice your skills with our games such as a nerve spiral, and then demonstrate in our recreated OR how adept you are with surgical instruments.
On Wednesday, May 1st, 2024, the National Science Agenda (NWA) is organizing the fourth edition of Expedition NEXT: the national science festival for children. Together with the Dutch scientific community and regional partners such as the municipality of Zutphen and museums, they are bringing the festival to our region this year, in Zutphen.
In addition to the enthusiastic team in our children's OR from Radboudumc Amalia Children's Hospital, there are many more science enthusiasts at Expedition NEXT. For example, take part in the Big Fact or Fiction Quiz with Klaas van Kruistum, learn why whale poop is good for biodiversity, play with a robot dog, or build your own sea dike with LEGO. You can find the full program here (in Dutch).
