The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) has elected 18 new members, including Maroeska Rovers of Radboud university medical center. The members of the KNAW are leading scientists from all disciplines.
Academy members, leading researchers from across all the disciplines, are selected for their scientific and scholarly achievements. The Academy has about 600 members. Members are appointed for life. The new members will be installed on Monday 30 October 2023.
Maroeska Rovers
Maroeska Rovers is professor of Medical Technology and Innovation at Radboud university medical center and Scientific Director of the TechMed center at the University of Twente. She conducts research to support decision-making on medical technology, such as the use of robots in healthcare. Her ambition is to contribute to the development of effective, affordable, and valuable medical innovations. Rovers uses epidemiological methods and economic modeling in her innovative research to assess the relationship between benefits and costs, including the associated uncertainties. Since 2020, she has been director of Health Innovation Netherlands (Hi-NL), a network that brings together parties around healthcare innovation.
