Hundreds of enthusiastic people spontaneously joining and eager to participate in your activity or scientific research. That's what events and festivals offer. As Radboudumc, we would like to be present at various events in the coming year, such as Lowlands Science last year with our mosquito research. Do you have a good idea? Then contact the science press officers.
One of our tasks as a UMC is to spread and share knowledge with a wide audience. National events are an excellent place for showcasing our expertise. Various events are planned for the coming year, where Radboudumc can present itself with research. It could be scientific research with public participation, as in Lowlands Science, or it could be an activity for children. Here are the options for 2024:
InScience
When: March 14th to 17th
What: International science film festival
Who: Approximately 8000 visitors of all ages
Where: Nijmegen
More info: InScience is a festival where international scientists, filmmakers, and the public come together to share the latest insights shaping the world of tomorrow. There are also opportunities for research or interaction with a broad audience, not only in the film theater LUX but also in a large dome tent at Mariƫnburgplein.
Expeditie Next
When: Wednesday, May 1st
What: Science festival for children
Who: 3000 to 5000 children in primary school, aged six to twelve

Vierdaagsefeesten (Four Days Marches Festivities) (subject to change)
When: July 13th to 19th
What: Largest event in the Netherlands
Who: Nearly 400,000 unique visitors, mostly between 18 and 34 years old
Where: Nijmegen
More info: The Vierdaagsefeesten are organized by the Stichting Vierdaagsefeesten. We are in discussions with the municipality and other knowledge institutions about a location in the Nijmegen city center where Radboudumc can showcase itself and share its knowledge with a large, general audience.
Lowlands Science

What: Science festival for adults at the Lowlands festival
