Jörgen Bruhn has been appointed professor of Anesthesiology, Pain and Palliative Medicine at Radboud university medical center / Radboud University. He was also appointed head of department and will be committed to continuous improvement and innovation of the department.
Bruhn (Elmshorn, Duitsland, 1966) studied Medicine at the University of Hamburg. He received his doctorate from the same university (dissertation title: ‘Characterization ofthe diastolic dysfunction in dilative cardiomyopathies: correlation of haemodynamic and echocardiographic data’). Subsequently, he worked at the Universitätsklinikum Bonn, where he was appointed endowed professor of Anesthesiology in 2009 based on his scientific merits. During his time in Bonn, he also did a research fellowship at Stanford University in California. Since 2006, he has been a staff member at the Department of Anesthesiology, Pain and Palliative Medicine (Chef de Clinique since 2015). He received several grants, including a VIDI in 2009.
Bruhn has been appointed professor of Anesthesiology, Pain and Palliative Medicine for a five-year term, effective from September 1, 2022.
